I've been to the beach twice this month, and yet i didnt get to dive.

Anilao, with officemates and interns. uncool? wait, there's more. that's 3 pinoy officemates, 1 chinese senior officer, 1 chinese intern and 1 thai intern. buti nalang maayos-ayos ingles nila. oh and thats two interns who cant swim. but since Yafeng was going back to China the following week, a nice beach was a requisite stop, which is why we should have gone to pangasinan, but since they wanted to see corals (coastal management nga naman kami eh), batangas ang bagsak namin (pero dahil pang dive na resort, walang sand. sea wall at bata na agad.). so kahit malakas ang alon, tuloy lang kami sa pag skin dive, este magpaagos sa alon at sumabay sa sangkaterbang basurang lumulutang. sasabay sana kami ni J sa isang rupong kilala sa Dive and Trek, ang kaso, ubos na ni-rerentang BC at reg. hay.

Is the question "Is it a poem?" still a valid question?

I am a late-bloomer when it comes to poetry, as malatemail or other writerslashpoet friends can attest. too late in fact that i only came to appreciate it when i was taking classes in comparative literature. but not bloomed enough to attempt at writing poetry. ever, me thinks. of course i won't deny attempting it in high school, i mean everybody does at one time. some people just admit to not being able to write poetry earlier than others.

my appreciation, though, is quite limited to so-called canons, to required reading list staples (for CL, at the least), to recommended readings from friends, to pop poetry (for lack of a better term or just because of poetic ignorance. my apologies), and to poetry for children which i always enjoy.

which brings me back to the question, "is it a poem?"

to which i will, likewise, never attempt to answer on my own. not even a feeble attempt.
but Eileen Tabios answers this question in a prose-poem that for me explains a lot without explaining but by using the rhythm, the wit and the repartee in most good poems that are a joy to read - in the bathroom, in a cafe, on a train, or an island somewhere.

ohh yeah!

Simple Joy

I've been yakking in the office about wanting good coffee for a few weeks now. wala kasing malapit na coffee shop; nearest is Chocolate Kiss in UP or SM North. saya no?

i so miss having my good coffee everytime i felt like it, previous jobs being really near Figaro and Starbucks.

Cool car commercial

and the story behind. daw.

There are no computer graphics or digital tricks in the film. Everything you see really happened in real time exactly as you see it. The film took 606 takes. On the first 605 takes, something, usually very minor, didn't work. They would then have to set the whole thing up again.

The film cost six million dollars and took three months to complete, including a full engineering of the sequence. In addition, it's two minutes long so every time Honda airs the film on British television, they're shelling out enough dough to keep any one of us in clover for a lifetime.

There are six and only six handmade Accords in the world. To the horror of Honda engineers, the filmmakers disassembled two of them to make the film.

Everything you see in the film (aside from the walls, floor, ramp, and complete Honda Accord) are parts from those two cars.

When the ad was shown to Honda executives, they liked it and commented on how amazing computer graphics have gotten. They fell off their chairs when they found out it was for real.

more details, please.
